College of Engineering, Attingal commonly known as CEAL, is situated in Attingal( Thiruvananthapuram), the capital city of Kerala.This engineering college was established by the Institute of Human Resources Development, Government of Kerala. In 2011 WEEK survey, CEAL occupied a position in the list of top 100 engineering colleges in India.
The college began courses in 2003. It has gained approval from the All India Council for Technical Education and is an affiliated institution under Cochin University of Science and Technology

Admissions are carried out on the basis of the ranks obtained in the All Kerala Common Entrance Examinations, conducted by the Controller of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala.The college follows a 50-50 method of admission from both merit and management streams. A significant amount of students in the management stream is filled by children of NRIs.
The Department of Electronics Engineering offers courses whose completion leads to a B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Cochin University of Science And Technology, Kerala.
Course subjects include Communication Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Industrial and Power Electronics, Digital System Design, Microprocessors, Electronic Product Design, VLSI Design, Industrial Organization and Management.
To bridge the gap between text-book knowledge and its practical application, the students take lab classes on all core subjects in addition to seminars and projects (main project and mini project).
This dept has an electronic club named ELECTRINO. The ‘ELECTRINO’ is a venture of the electronic students of College Of Engineering Attingal, Trivandrum, to make a statement in the field of electronics. The various activities of the association is aimed at keeping the disciples of the field of communication updated with the latest developments and discoveries of the technical world. It is used to unite the students with one language- SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY. Association serves as a platform for aspiring young engineers to showcase their scientific talents theoretically and practically.

The Department of Computer Engineering offers courses that lead to a B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala. The course is four years.
Course subjects include Computer Architecture and Organisation, Automata Languages and Computation, Data Structures and Algorithms, Database Management Systems, Language Processor, Computer Networks, Advanced Architecture and Parallel Processing, Software Engineering, Digital Signal Processing, and Analysis and Design of Algorithms. The curriculum includes management papers like Industrial Organization and Management.
The present Head of Dept of this branch is Suma L.S. The CS dept has a technical organisation named TECHTROW.
TECHTROW had a launch at the campus on 19th January 2010.
Mr. Biju Philip,Vice president ,Envestnet inaugurated Techtrow and the principal Prof.Sunil TT presided over the function. All the faculty members of the college including Smt Suma LS HOD CS, Smt Anuradha HOD EC ,Sri V . Bhadran,and all the students of the department attended the function. Mr Kenny Jacob,an young entrepreneur of the state was the special guest on that day. The official blog and the logo for the association was also released on that day.
Techtrow triggered its action on the very same day of inauguration. A seminar was conducted on "Entrepreneurship" which was taken by Mr.Kenny jacob,our special guest. The next event was a Technical Quiz judged by the faculty members Sri Basil Gomez(staff-in-charge, techtrow), Smt Sheeja,Smt Deepa and hosted by the students Sagar and Arun Sekhar. The Technical quiz tapered the knowledge of the students and it really emoted the team spirit of the students.
Techtrow envisages in polishing the technical and industrial awareness of the students by conducting various events like technical training, tech fests, chats with professionals etc.

The Agro IT project was inaugurated in August 2011 in the presence of Hon Minister of State for Agriculture and Hon Education Minister. The student community undertook organic farming in 5 acres of land on the campus devoting time and effort to nurture the plantains and obviously their efforts are bearing fruits.
The technical and cultural events which are a part of the Agro IT fest are scheduled to start on Feb 3rd and end by the 5th of Feb 2012. All these 3 days will be filled with technical and cultural events, paper presentations etc.
Cealiga '11 is the first annual inter college football (Fives) tournament to be conducted at College of Engineering, Attingal on the 16th, 17th and 18th of December 2011. A total of 8 engineering colleges from the district are invited for the tournament. Fiza sponsors the cash prize for the team emerging first in this tournament. The other sponsors for the event are Indian Overseas Bank, Winsoft, Zion Bakers etc.
Periodic career counseling sections are coordinated for the students by Career Guidance and Placement Unit (CGPU) functioning in the campus. CGPU prepares the students to face competitive examinations and interviews through intensive training programs through encompassing aptitude test, group discussions, mock interviews and basics of behavioral psychology and body language.
